THE U.S. PRO GOLF TOUR BYRON NELSON AWARD
In 2006, the U.S. Pro Golf Tour was honored by Jon Bradley of Byron Nelson Interests by allowing the USPGT to institute the Byron Nelson Award. Mr. Bradley's criteria for a deserving player receiving the award was very specific. It should be given to a player who best exemplifies the manner in which the late Byron Nelson played the game of golf; as a true gentleman. The Byron Nelson Award is voted on by USPGT staff, and the inaugural award was presented to Chad Saladin at the season-ending Tour Championship. In 2008, the Byron Nelson Award comes with a cash bonus of $25,000.
